Adaptace žáků z Waldorfské základní školy na tradiční střední školy

The bachelor thesis is focused on the topic of alternative education. It deals with the adaptation of Waldorf primary school graduates in their transition to tradi-tional secondary schools. The thesis describes the origin, development and classifi-cation of alternative schools. It presents their principal characteristic features, specifics in the approach to students in the classes and differences from traditional school education. In the main part, the thesis focuses on describing phenomenons appearing in students' transition from primary to secondary schools and possible problems in their adaptation to the traditional type of teaching.
Alternative education and its view of nutrition and eating pupils nowadays.

The diploma thesis deals with alternative education and its view on the nutrition and eating habits of pupils nowadays. The work aims to find out, how alternative schools view the quality and use of the food basket within eating and nutrition of children in comparison with the traditional school. My interest was to find out the opinion of parents, how they view their children's eating in alternative schools and whether they attach great emphasis to it. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is focused on the comparison of alternative and traditional education with emphasis on the development, nutrition and eating of children. The practical part includes the results of a qualitative research survey, which was carried out with the help of analysis of available sources and subsequent study of interviews.
Teaching literature in genre-thematic units at the ISCED level in the context of an alternative study programme

This thesis, entitled A case study: the teaching of literature in genre-themed units at the ISCED 3 level in the context of an alternative study program, focuses on a, in our environment, non-traditional approach to teaching literature in high schools, based on a unique study program. The thesis consists of two parts - a theoretical part and an empirical part. The theoretical part includes the definition of the term "literary education" along with its insertion into the context of the educational plan outline for high schools. Furthermore, the definition of the term "alternative schooling" is given, and the terms that are subsequently used in the empirical part - reading and reading literacy, formative assessment, Content and Language Integrated Learning, and tandem teaching - are also defined. Finally, the period of adolescence is described, with an emphasis on the psychological and social characteristics of an individual. The aim of the empirical part was to describe how teaching takes place in an alternative study program at the ISCED 3 level, with an emphasis on the teaching of literature arranged into genre-themed units. Comparison of Environmental Awareness of Pupils from Traditional and Alternative Elementary Schools

The thesis compares environmental awareness of conventional and alterna- tive lower secondary school students. The qualitative research was performed through a group interview, where participants expressed their opinion on par- ticular environmental topics and gave examples of their behaviour and expe- rience related to those fields, which showed a true level of their environmental protection awareness. The concept of the interviews was chosen to disclose an individual factors that can affect environmental awareness (school, family, af- ter school activity etc.). The schools, which students were selected from, were sorted out not only by the criterion of conventionality but by approach to en- vironmental protection as well. Following findings are, for example, included among these criteria: If the school has an environmental coordinator, whether students are motivated in compliance with the proactive environmental po- licy, if and in what extent is waste separated in the particular school and the like. Introduction of montessori principles of education to economic subjects at High schools

Thesis aims to find out whether or not it is possible to implement Montessori principles of education into economical subjects on High schools. Parst of the Thesis are also preparations for teaching of economical subjects with Montessori principals. At the end reader can find out more information about methods, forms, content, didactic aids and didactic technique which can be used to implement Montessori principles appropriately. Author used several different experimental methods like experimental teaching, self-reflection of the practitioner, questionnaire survey in the class where experimental teaching took place and didactic test for pupils who participated in experimental teaching. As a result, implementation of Montessori principles is possible and has advantages (better atmosphere in class, better way to achieve educational goals) and disadvantages (problems with fixation).
Specifics of managing alternative schools

The thesis discusses the specifics of the management of alternative schools in Czech Republic. The aim is to compare selected type of alternative schools in the Czech Republic, focusing on management, analysis of differences in management from the management of public schools. The theoretical part deals with the definition and the development of alternative schools, the features and functions of alternative schools. The practical part analyzes the document and standardized interviews with selected schools. The result is a comparison of selected types of alternative schools in the Czech Republic, with focus on the management, and analysis of the differences from management of public schools.
